Parametric Test Overview

Parametric Hypothesis Tests make certain assumptions about the underlying distribution of the population from which the sample is drawn, and about which the inference is to be made. If these assumptions are not met, the test results may be incorrect and any conclusions drawn will be thrown into doubt. In such situations a better approach may be to use an appropriate non-parametric test on the data instead.
